Have you ever noticed how much of your day can be spent trying to make life happen the way you think it should? We make plans, anticipate problems, rehearse conversations, and imagine how things might unfold. We have ideas about what success should look like, how our relationships should feel, and when certain things are supposed to happen. And when life takes an unexpected turn, we can find ourselves working even harder to bring everything back into alignment with the picture we’ve created in our minds.
It’s interesting how easily we can become so focused on making life work that we forget we’re actually here to experience it.
I see this often in people who are deeply committed to their personal and spiritual growth. They have wonderful intentions. They want to create meaningful relationships, experience greater fulfillment, and live with a deeper sense of purpose. Yet somewhere along the way, the very process of creating the life they desire can become another thing to manage, another outcome to pursue, or another experience they believe they must somehow make happen.
But what if we’ve misunderstood our role in the process?
What if life isn’t something we’re meant to constantly push, pull, and organize into existence? What if there is an extraordinary intelligence already moving through us, inviting us into experiences and possibilities that our minds haven’t even imagined yet?
One of the most profound realizations we can have is that we are not separate from the life unfolding around us. We are expressions of the same infinite intelligence that animates all of existence. The energy that moves through the universe is the very life force moving through our bodies, our creativity, our relationships, and every experience we have.
And when we begin to recognize ourselves in this way, our relationship with life can change.
Instead of approaching every circumstance from the perspective of what we need to accomplish, control, or protect, we begin to discover what it feels like to participate in life from a deeper place of connection. We become more available to inspiration, more present in our relationships, and more receptive to possibilities that might have gone unnoticed when we were so busy trying to figure everything out.
This is not about sitting back and waiting for something wonderful to happen. Quite the opposite. It’s about becoming consciously engaged in our lives from a different state of being.
Think about those moments when you’ve been working so hard to solve a problem that you can barely think about anything else. You’ve examined every possibility, considered every outcome, and convinced yourself that the answer must be somewhere in all of that thinking. And then, perhaps while taking a walk, washing the dishes, or simply stepping away for a moment, something shifts. An idea arrives. A new perspective opens up. Suddenly, you see something that wasn’t available to you just a few moments before.
We often describe these experiences as moments of inspiration, but I invite you to consider what may actually be happening. When we relax our grip on the familiar thoughts and beliefs that have been directing our attention, we can become more available to the deeper intelligence within us.
The possibility may have been there all along. We simply weren’t in a state to recognize it.
This is one of the reasons I speak so often about embodiment. Our thoughts and beliefs play an important role in shaping our experiences, but they are not the entirety of who we are. When we begin to bring our awareness into the body and recognize ourselves as the conscious energy moving through it, we can experience life beyond the limitations of the thinking mind.
We begin to recognize that we don’t have to defend every belief we’ve accumulated or keep recreating our lives according to what has happened in the past. We can become curious again. We can discover a greater capacity for connection, creativity, healing, and expression. We can begin to experience ourselves as participants in an infinite field of possibility rather than individuals trying to manage life from the outside.
And perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of this realization is that it doesn’t require us to leave our ordinary lives behind.
This awareness belongs in the conversations we have with the people we love, the work we do, the decisions we make, and the quiet moments when no one else is watching. It belongs in the way we respond when things don’t go as planned and in our willingness to recognize opportunities we may never have considered before.
Life is always moving, changing, and expressing itself. And so are we.
The invitation is to become more conscious of the way we’re participating in that movement, to recognize when we’re trying to force an outcome from a familiar state of mind, and to remember that there is an extraordinary intelligence within us that we can learn to live from.
This is the kind of exploration that lies at the heart of my year-long LiveAwake!® mentorship. It’s an opportunity to go beyond simply understanding these ideas and begin experiencing what it means to live as the infinite, creative beings we already are.
And now, I’m so happy to be sharing glimpses of this work with you through our new LiveAwake!® Shorts series.
Last week, we began with a beautiful reminder of who we really are: expressions of the infinite life force itself, with the capacity to experience extraordinary possibilities through our human lives. And each Monday, we’re continuing that exploration with a new bite-sized video featuring teachings from inside the mentorship, experiences shared by students, and insights you can bring into your own day.
We’re now in our second week, and I invite you to join us. Whether you’re just beginning to explore these ideas or have been practicing this work for years, there’s always an opportunity to experience something more deeply.
Because the infinite isn’t somewhere beyond the life you’re living.
It’s right here, expressing itself through you. Click here to tune into the playlist today!
