So often in our lives, we find ourselves stuck – physically, emotionally, energetically – and we think it’s because of something outside of us. A circumstance. A relationship. A diagnosis. But what I want to offer you today is this: more often than not, what’s truly keeping us stuck is not out there, but in here, deep within the fabric of the body. In the energy field. In the subconscious. In the form of trapped emotion.
Let’s get something clear right up front: trapped emotions are not your fault. They are a natural byproduct of a world that hasn’t always known how to feel. How to be present. How to move energy consciously.
When something happens in your life – trauma, heartbreak, rejection, fear—and you don’t have the tools, the support, or the awareness to fully process it in the moment, the energy of that emotion doesn’t just disappear. It doesn’t dissolve just because we move on or “get over it.” Instead, it goes underground. It gets embedded into the tissues, the fascia, the nervous system. It creates tension in the breath, tightness in the chest, fog in the mind. It begins to live in the body.
And here’s the key: the body never lies. The body doesn’t forget.
What the mind suppresses, the body expresses.
Whether through chronic pain, anxiety, autoimmune conditions, or simply a dull ache of disconnection, the signals are always there. And they are sacred. These symptoms aren’t nuisances to be silenced. They are the language of your soul, gently (and sometimes loudly) calling you home.
So what do we do?
We stop running. We turn inward. We learn to feel again.
You’ve heard me say it before: energy must move. Emotions are energy in motion. If we block that motion, through resistance, judgment, or dissociation, we also block the very life force that is trying to bring us back into wholeness. We interfere with the healing intelligence of the body.
When I work with students around trapped emotions, we don’t just talk about the past, we move the energy. We breathe into the body. We feel into the sensations. We allow the light of loving presence to shine on what has long been kept in the dark.
And do you know what happens?
The body remembers how to heal.
The nervous system rewires. The cells begin to vibrate at a higher frequency. Tears fall, laughter returns, clarity emerges. What once felt like a block becomes a bridge, back to our truest, most authentic self.
So here’s my invitation to you:
Begin to listen. Not with the mind, but with the body. Feel into that tightness in the solar plexus, that weight in the heart, that lump in the throat. Ask, What are you trying to show me? What is ready to be seen, felt, and loved – now, finally, completely?
And when you find the courage to feel…you will find the freedom to live.
The healing you’re seeking isn’t somewhere far off. It is already inside you, waiting patiently, lovingly, for your attention.
Let’s bring it home together.
